MIES Awarded AEO Certification
MIES International has been awarded Authorised Economic Operator status from HM Revenue and Customs. MIES is amongst the first Midlands based forwarders to be approved as an AEO. The assessment programme is rigorous and certification confirms a company's ability to work to extremely high standards of customs compliance.
AEO is a World Customs Organisation initiative with the aim of providing businesses with an internationally recognised quality mark, indicating safe and secure practices within the International Supply Chain. The Benefits include a reduction in physical and documentary checks, and simplification of data requirements. Additional benefits will be implemented when the EU modernised Customs code is introduced, possibly in 2010.

MIES are now providing outbound and inbound services to Hong Kong & China on Port to Port or Door to Airport or Door to Door basis. In conjunction with our partners in China, we can offer tailored services to and from the world's fastest growing economy. MIES also have staff based at Tamworth who are fluent in ALL Chinese Languages.
MIES's weekly consolidation service from Hong Kong is a proven success. Weekly containers leave Hong Kong bound for MIES's Logistics centre based in Tamworth. Using a premier carrier, transit time is 19 days from port to port. Transfer of containers to the Tamworth facility normally takes 24 hours. Freight can be cleared and available for delivery or collection on the same day.
INDIA
In conjunction with our partners in India, MIES can provide tailored services to and from the Indian Sub-continent. Our inbound containers are routed into our ERTS facility in Tamworth, enabling same day de-vanning and clearance facilities and offering a faster alternative to clearance & de-vanning at congested UK Ports.
