Notice to Exporters


During the past 7 months, HM Revenue & Customs has issued compound penalties ranging between £1,000 - £4,000 to 3 separate UK Exporters.


These fines relate to breaches of UK Export Control Regulations 2008 and to unlicensed exports of dual use goods.


Export control legislation is enforced by HMRC, working with the Crown Prosecution Service. Where appropriate, HMRC can use their powers to offer a compound penalty rather than prosecution.
